Disclaimer

PensionMaxxer is a comparison tool, not an adviser. Please read this before you use anything you find here to make a decision.

Indicative figures only

Every number on this site is a simplified estimate. We model headline national income tax bands and the allowances or credits a typical retiree receives. We do not model social insurance, health insurance contributions, provincial or municipal taxes, property taxes, means-tested benefits, marital status, other income sources, or the timing of when you started drawing a pension.

Not tax advice

Where a pension is taxable depends on the type of pension, the double-tax treaty between the two countries, and your residence and domicile status. Two people with identical incomes can face very different bills. Before you act, take advice from a qualified adviser in both countries.

Not immigration advice

Visa and residence rules change frequently and are applied case by case. The entitlements shown are a general summary of the main routes for each passport, not a decision on your application. Always check the current requirements with the relevant government before making plans.

Cost of living is an average

Cost-of-living indices are national averages. Living in central Sydney is nothing like living in regional Queensland, and the same is true of every country here. Treat the percentages as a starting point for research, not a budget.

Exchange rates move

Currency conversions use indicative rates that are updated periodically, not live market rates. Exchange-rate movement can easily outweigh any tax saving shown here, and it is the single biggest risk to an income drawn in one currency and spent in another.
